Product Introduction
A 19-nortestosterone derivative and a non-aromatising anabolic–androgenic steroid; the active ingredient of the historical bovine Trenbolone Acetate Implant. The entries here are oil injectables for research/non-human use
Therapeutic Use
No approved human indication. Historically used in veterinary medicine for bovine weight gain; human use is investigational
Mode of Action
The 9,11-double bond makes it essentially non-aromatisable, so oestradiol is hardly produced — the key difference from nandrolone/testosterone. Androgen-receptor affinity is several-fold higher than testosterone, giving strong anabolic activity with minimal oestrogenic effect; no progestogenic activity
Administration & Monitoring
Compliant research institutions only; animal studies should monitor weight, liver function (trenbolone is notably hepatotoxic) and reproductive status
Important Safety Information
Research compound, not a clinical medicine; a potent anabolic steroid, so non-medical use is unlawful. Severe hepatic adverse effects (hepatocellular lesions, cirrhotic-type changes) have been observed in animal studies
Adverse Reactions
Injection-site pain and inflammation; acne, hirsutism, hypertrophy of muscle and viscera; marked hepatotoxicity (raised transaminases, hepatocellular injury); dyslipidaemia and cardiovascular risk; reproductive suppression in men (testicular atrophy, reduced sperm count); insomnia and mood change; no marked oestrogenic symptoms because it is non-aromatising
Important Risks
Severe hepatotoxicity (the most characteristic risk); cardiovascular remodelling and myocardial hypertrophy; long-term dependence and reproductive suppression; psychiatric/behavioural disturbance (agitation, aggression)
Contraindications
No official contraindication information. By principle: pregnancy and lactation; known or suspected prostate cancer; severe hepatic impairment (particularly important for this compound); children and adolescents
Special Populations
Contraindicated in children and adolescents, pregnancy and lactation; contraindicated in hepatic impairment; should be avoided in older males and in heart-failure patients
Usage Limitations
Strictly prohibited in competitive sport (WADA Prohibited List); research use only; administration requires professional aseptic technique and site rotation
Anti-Doping Testing
WADA Prohibited List S1.1; targets trenbolone and its metabolites (e.g. trendione), detected in urine by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS; ester prodrugs extend the detection window
Product Quality Testing
Identification (HPLC/MS), assay/content uniformity, related substances, clarity and particulate matter, fill volume, sterility and endotoxin, residual solvents, stability; COA
